Space Tour by Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos

SPACE TOUR

INTRODUCTION:

In past days people might not have thought to go out of the planet but Yuri Gagarin, a Soviet cosmonaut, became the first person to travel into space on April 12, 1961, during a 108-minute trip that completed one round of the planet. Afterward many astronauts went to space. It was an extremely difficult and cost-bearing task. But now in 2022 things have got changed. In this age, space tourism will be feasible. You'll be able to take a trip to space the same way you travel to different countries. The most significant thing is that you wouldn't have to go through any training. To do this, you don't need to train to be an astronaut. Just necessary training and safety measures will be taught to avoid any mishap.

How is that going to work? Who is going to make it happen? And how much will it cost? Let's find out in today's blog.

WHO IS GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN?

It’s being made feasible by three people:

1.      RICHARD BRANSON:

He is Virgin Group's owner. Virgin Galactic is the name of his space travel business. The link for his virgin galactic website is given below:

2.      JEFF BEZOS:

He is the owner of Amozon.com. His space travel business is called Blue Origin. The link for his website is given below:

3.      ELON MUSK:

He is the proprietor of Tesla. SpaceX is the name of his space firm. You can visit the SpaceX website by clicking the link below:

RICHARD BRANSON SPACE TOUR ON JULY 11,2021:

The first two persons Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson were competing head-to-head to determine who would launch their rocket into space first, becoming the first man in history to do it. On July 20, 2021, Jeff Bezos announced that he will become the first person to do this possible. Following that, Richard Branson postponed his initial plan to do this a few months later. On July 11, 2021, Richard Branson made an effort at doing this. The name of his spacecraft was UNITY spacecraft.

He boarded his UNITY SPACECRAFT together with two pilots and three other crew members. Total of six crew members.

CREW MEMBERS:

This rocket launched into the air and the objective was accomplished. He became the first man to travel to space on his spaceship, leaving Jeff Bezos behind.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICS OF UNITY SPACECRAFT:

Understanding the technical specifics of this accomplishment is incredibly fascinating. He wasn't on a rocket that was launched from a launchpad, for this reason, it is astonishing. It was not the traditional way astronauts often travel, which is on a rocket. It was a type of airplane. This aircraft can be referred to as a "SPACE PLANE" because it has traveled into space. What occurred was that this little space plane named “UNITY” was joined to a larger, running aircraft that you might refer to as the "MOTHER AIRCRAFT”. Due to their connection, both aircraft first take off from the runway together. And this Unity Space Plane separates from the Mother Aircraft when they are at an altitude of around 50,000 feet. Then it moves toward space at supersonic speed, which is faster than the speed of sound. And when we refer to traveling to space in this context, what we mean is that we were 88 kilometers above the surface of the planet. At that height, you could see the curvature of the Earth if you peered out the window. On this flight, this was the view. Most intriguingly, the plane's occupants may feel weightlessness at this altitude similar to how astronauts encounter it. Unfortunately, though, this plane doesn't hang out there for very long. On this Virgin Galactic voyage, you may experience weightlessness for only 4 minutes. The aircraft then begins to descend. It makes a typical airplane-like landing on the runway. It takes only an hour to complete this journey. And the part from the detaching of the Space Plane, reaching the top to landing back takes only 15 minutes. It's not a very long journey. We could see all the photos and videos because Richard Branson live-streamed his test flight on the internet. The video is attached below. Go check it out👇 :

Another interesting thing is, among the 6 crew members, one was an Indian-born woman named Sirisha Bandla.

This should inspire other female astronauts from other countries to be a part of such immense projects. If Sirisha Bandla and many others are capable of doing this so, why don’t you? On this platform, I want to make people realize the fact that nothing is impossible and man can achieve whatever he wants. The only condition is hard work and a firm dedication to the cause.

Well, resuming back to the topic, Richard Branson wasn't the first private citizen to travel to space. A wealthy American businessman named "Dennis Tito" spent $20 million to travel to the International Space Station and spend eight days there. He did this by sitting in the astronauts' seats on a rocket. This, however, was unique. He was traveling in an actual rocket with the crew. On the other hand, you may consider unity spacecraft, a private spaceplane.

WHY RICHARD BRANSON IS NOT CONSIDERED TO BE THE FIRST TO GO TO SPACE?

You could assume Richard Branson didn't truly travel to space as a result of this. If you do, you won't be the only one to have that thought. This was made fun of on Twitter by Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space business.

They said that Richard Branson's name would have an asterisk (*) next to it because he only ascended to a height of 88 kilometers. Globally, the majority of scientists concur that space starts at a height of 100 kilometers. The Karman Line is the name of this 100-kilometer stretch.

According to the International Astronauts' Association, the line at 100 km marks the actual border between Earth's atmosphere and space. However, the US Government and NASA hold that the atmosphere and space begin to separate at an altitude of 80 kilometers. Richard Branson may thus be defended by the fact that, by US standards, he has traveled to space. But not by global norms. Jeff Bezos' workplace made fun of him because of this.

JEFF BEZOS’ SPACE TOUR ON JULY 20, 2021:

On July 20, 2021, Jeff Bezos aimed to pass this line at a speed of 100 kilometers. Here, the distinction is crucial. It will be done by Jeff Bezos in a rocket-like spacecraft that his company will build. He'll take a rocket to the sky. His business asserts that this spacecraft will have enormous windows in addition to a range of more than 100 kilometers for you to enjoy viewing the Earth. However, the windows on Virgin Galactic's spacecraft were relatively tiny and the size of an airliner window. Because of this, Jeff Bezos' coworkers made fun of him. Additionally, Jeff Bezos plans to pass this line at a speed of 100 kilometers. The difference is important in this case. Jeff Bezos will carry it out with a rocket-like spaceship that his business will make. He will then launch himself into space using a rocket. His company claims that for you to enjoy watching the Earth, this spacecraft will feature gigantic windows and a range of more than 100 kilometers.

COST OF SPACE TOURS:

How much will it cost? One flight with Virgin Galactic will cost $250,000 for one ticket. It will cost between 55 to 60 million Pakistani rupees. Whether you can afford it or not is entirely up to you. Certainly, our politicians can afford this. For the next year, 600 individuals had already made reservations. Several of these names are well-known. like Leonardo DiCaprio an American actor and Justin Bieber a Canadian singer. By 2022, full commercial service is anticipated. Additionally, Richard Branson predicts that as more people use it, the price will eventually drop. According to him, the cost of the ticket might potentially drop as low as $40,000. Nowadays, the average person cannot afford it. However, once it begins, perhaps in 10 or 15 or 20 years, I believe that regular people will also be able to buy it. On the other hand, we are unsure of Jeff Bezos's spacecraft's actual ticket cost. But only one ticket was put up for auction in June, and it brought nearly $28 million. Similar to Elon Musk's SpaceX, one ticket that went up for sale brought around $55 million. But because they're actual rockets, that's a little different. And you could be able to go to the International Space Station on Elon Musk's voyage. Additionally, the training and lodging while flying are included in the ticket price. You would receive some fundamental instruction on how to act in the absence of gravity and what you ought to do in an emergency. You would hear all of this.

IS A SPACE TOUR DANGEROUS?

Knowing this may make some individuals anxious. They risk losing their life if there is a technical issue because they would be trying something new and traveling to space. How plausible is it to be afraid of it then? It is extremely plausible since it hasn't been tested enough. You'd be one of the first people to be tried for safety measures if you did it the next year. There are a lot of hazards. Even Richard Branson admits as much. In 2004, he announced his plans to construct a spacecraft. He believed that by 2007, space travel will be feasible. But in 2014, one of his test flights was lost in a crash following several issues and challenges. Even some deaths occurred. In 2021, this will be completed. His test flight went off without a hitch. But in addition to the jet crashing, there are other risk factors. Because astronauts often receive intensive training before going into space. But before traveling to space, travelers won't get their health or physical condition checked. We thus have no idea what issues they could encounter. Furthermore, the long-term effects of microgravity on the human body have never been investigated due to the recent advent of space flight. Additionally, the radiation at that level may be pretty significant along with the G-force that you would have to endure. These are some other considerations. However, the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA has said that any radiation you may encounter at that altitude will be minimal and shouldn't be a concern. However, taking into account the other risk factors, when you go to do this, they will undoubtedly obtain a document that needs to be signed by you. You must sign a liability waiver form before this space tour. It will inform you that any injuries you sustain will be your fault.

ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF SPACE TOURS:

Let's now discuss the effects on the environment. On this issue, all three millionaires have received harsh criticism. Only the wealthy will be able to participate in space travel. The top 0.1% of persons alone. But because of how much pollution it would cause and how great of an impact it will have on the environment, it is very disproportionate. Although the other people will not have the chance to do this, they will all have to bear some of the consequences for the ecology on Earth. Speaking of Virgin Galactic, a typical trip produces 0.2 kg of CO2 emissions per passenger every mile; in this case, 12 kilograms would be produced 60 times more of a difference, in addition, the emission of nitrous oxide into our atmosphere will cause ozone depletion. We will soon need to keep these things in mind. when space travel will be increasingly widespread. And the answers will need to be developed by these millionaires.
